The Vice Photo Book

This book captures the essence of VICE‘s approach to alternative photography, characterised by a sense of irreverence, bold storytelling, and a commitment to independent expression. Drawing on 13 years of pioneering gonzo journalism, VICE has amassed a vast collection of photographs, including rarely seen works by renowned artists such as Terry Richardson, Richard Kern, Juergen Teller, and VICE alumni like Ryan McGinley and Dash Snow.

The VICE anthology is divided into five sections, starting with Vice Photographers, pairing the work of established names with the voices of Jamie Warren, Jerry Hsu, and Patrick O’Dell. Through interviews and curated portfolios, readers see how VICE’s visual culture goes beyond well-composed images—telling a story with each photograph. Vice’s Photojournalism highlights provocative moments from the magazine’s archives and annual photo issues, capturing the spirit of VICE since 2001. The third section is Vice Fashion with shoots that defy industry norms, like by featuring plus-sized women in confident poses, and the bold Sex Issue series. The final two sections bring together a collage of VICE’s most memorable works and boundary-pushing discoveries.
